I teach a course in mastering time management to business professionals. One of the key points I stress is how email can be not only a distraction, but a major time waster. You get caught up in email and it’s like a carousel you just cant’ get off. There are great apps that can help manage your email and I want to share 3 with you that I really like. They will allow your to be more productive and efficient and who doesn’t need that, right?
Sidekick-this is my favorite. Have you ever sent an email to a client and wonder if they read it. Now, you don’t have to wonder, with Sidekick you will be alerted when they open the email and when they open it again This can be a real benefit letting you know when to follow up with a potential client. The app allows you to get 200 free notification each month. It will also having you rolling your eyes if someone claims not to have received your email.
Outlook has been allowing more spam than I ever thought possible to flood my inbox. To unsubscribe individually takes up way too much time. Unroll.me will let you unsubscribe fast to all those email subscriptions that are jamming your inbox. Another feature is that subscriptions you do want will be delivered to you once a day in a summary email called the Roll Up.
For Chrome and Firefox users there is an app called Rappaportive. After you install it, you will be able to see the LinkedIn profile and any shared connections you have with that person when you email them. You can also connect with them on Linked in direct from your email.
