    Set Specific Goals:

First things first, you need to get your goals written down, so they are always in front of you.  You want to write your long term goals and then the short term goals you need to reach them.  So if you have a long term goal of acquiring 20 new accounts from the promotion of your website and social media you need to break down the steps to get there.  Those steps will be your short term goals.

    Know  Your Target Market:

Who would benefit the most from your product or service?  If your target market is women with small children, where will you find them?

    • What are their demographics?
    • Why do they need your product/service?
    • How will they benefit from using your product/service?
    • Do you solve a problem for them?
    • What are their goals?
    • Who influences their purchases?
    • How would they interact with your company?

Once you learn more about who they are, it will be easier to discover the right way to connect with them.

    Website:

Make sure your company website is attractive, easy to navigate and fits your brand with the color scheme and layout.

    SEO

Make sure your website has searchable key words on each page Keywords are your ticket into coming up on top in the search engines and lead to more people discovering you company.

    Content

Your website should clearly indicate what your company is all about and should be filled with relevant, high quality content that is updated consistently to keep it fresh and current.

    Mobile Capability

Make sure your website is mobile friendly.  You don’t want to have a site that is not fully functional or cut off when accessed via smart phones or tablets.

    Stay Connected

Set up a newsletter for your website that keeps you connected to your customers and potential customers.  This automated newsletter will email them your most current content, offers, promos and more.  It will let you reach them with targeted marketing campaigns that convert to more sales.

    Social Media

Keep your customers engaged with you on social media.  Hire someone if you can’t do this yourself and stay interactive through status updates, tweets, calls to action and promotion of your latest offers and articles.

Set up online business listings for your company on Google +, Yelp, Bing etc.

Create a blog on your website where you will bring customers quality content connecting them with your products and/or services.  This will create relationships that are essential for credibility and belief in your company.

PInterest and Instagram accounts are perfect for visually showcasing products to your target market.  Consider starting a YouTube channel for videos of your products or tutorials on how to use your software products etc.

    Review Analytics

Review your analytics to see what type of digital marketing is giving you the biggest ROI.  Keep track of your growth.  Set a time to do this every month and then compare to previous stats to see where you can improve.

    Make Adjustments.

Based on your analytics, you need to adjust what is not workign and bump up efforts that are bringing you results. This is an ongoing process and is never done, especially at the rate technology is moving.
